We’re on a mission to remove the behavioral barriers to student success.
After a few weeks of coding in the basement (really, it was a basement), Matt returned with a prototype. With 2 weeks left in the school year, the 5th-grade teachers began awarding points digitally. Teachers loved that they saved an average of two hours per week of paperwork. LiveSchool was born!
In the company's first year, a mix of public, charter, and alternative schools signed up, a trend that continues to this day.
Meet Matt Rubinstein, LiveSchool’s CEO. In 2011, Matt was a Middle School teacher in Nashville, where he helped his school run their weekly “paycheck” system: students earn paper bucks for positive, and they cash them in for rewards and events.
Students loved the system, but the teachers struggled to manage the paperwork and manual tracking, which left everyone frustrated.
Powered by a team of former educators and support from its customer community, LiveSchool now serves 1000+ schools in 47 states and 14 countries. Together, we’re developing the tech tools and professional resources to make behavior an asset for student and school success.
Together, every school will serve as an example of positivity and possibility for their community.
Schools will be a place where every student tries their best, gets engaging feedback, and enjoys unforgettable rewards and celebrations.
Teachers will do their best work with motivated students and a positive school community.
Parents will feel a real connection to their child’s school experience.
Administrators will be strategists who set a plan and collaborate with their community to set and achieve measurable goals.
