This Privacy Policy describes LiveSchool’s policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you access the public LiveSchool website www.whyliveschool.com (“Website”). 

This Privacy Policy applies to the public website only and does not apply to student information processed within the LiveSchool platform. Student data processed within the LiveSchool platform is governed by FERPA as described in our User Agreement and Data Security and Privacy Overview.

Collection of Personal Information

The Website may include contact forms and other interactive areas.  We only collect Personal Information when you provide it voluntarily to us. We don't collect Personal Information without your knowledge. We don’t sell your Personal Information to third parties. Your information will only be used in connection with the purpose explained on the form (for instance, signing up for a newsletter or requesting a demonstration of our product).

Collection of Non-Personal Information

We automatically collect and store certain non-personal information concerning the traffic to our Website, including: the browser software you use and your operating system; the date and time you access our Website; and the internet protocol (IP) address from which you access our Website. We use this information as anonymous aggregate data for business purposes such as to determine the number of visitors to different sections of our Website, to ensure our Website is working properly, and to help us make our Website more useful for our users.

Use of Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to fulfill requests made by you and for other internal business purposes of LiveSchool and any of its successors. If you are a teacher, we may also use your Personal Information to send you emails about LiveSchool and its products and services. You may opt-out of receiving these emails by following the clear instructions at the bottom of each email to opt-out of future emails.

Disclosure of Your Information

We do not rent, sell, or provide Personal Information to third parties for their marketing purposes. However, we may share certain Personal Information and non-personal information that you share with us in order to complete business functions, like sending you an email. 

In addition, there may be instances when LiveSchool may access or disclose your Personal Information or your non-personal information in order to: (i) protect the safety, security, and privacy of users of the Website or members of the public including under exigent circumstances; (ii) protect or defend the legal rights or property of LiveSchool; or (iii) comply with applicable law or legal process.

From time to time, we may allow certain third party analytics service providers to include web beacons within the pages of our Website, giving them limited access to your non-personal information. 

AI Powered Free Tools

LiveSchool may offer free, AI-powered tools on our website to support educators—for example, tools that help generate ideas or content related to behavior support. These tools are not part of the LiveSchool product and are provided solely as optional resources for professional use. For the avoidance of doubt, our paid product does not include any AI-based features.

By using these tools, you agree not to enter any student names or personally identifiable information (PII). These tools are not designed to receive or process student data. We encourage users to describe behavior scenarios in general terms without referencing specific individuals.

The text you enter into these tools may be sent to third-party AI service providers (such as Google Cloud or OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating a response. LiveSchool does not use the input or output from these tools to train any AI models, and we do not retain or associate your input with your LiveSchool account.

The output of these tools is provided for informational purposes only and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate for every situation.

Children’s Privacy Rights

The public LiveSchool Website is a general audience website and is not intended for children under the age of 13. If you are a student whose school uses the LiveSchool Service, you do not need to access our public website located at whyliveschool.com and should access LiveSchool securely via a Single sign on provider or follow other instructions provided by your school. 

California Privacy Rights

California law permits users who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, a list of the third parties to whom we have disclosed their Personal Information (if any) for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, as well as the types of Personal Information disclosed to those parties.  Although we do not disclose your Personal Information to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes, if you are a California resident and would like to request this information, please submit your request in an email to support@liveschoolinc.com.

California Privacy Rights for Users Under Age 18

LiveSchool does not knowingly use, disclose, compile, or allow a third party to use, disclose, or compile, the Personal Information of a user under the age of 18 who resides in California (a “Minor”) for the purpose of marketing or advertising any of the products or services prohibited by the Privacy Rights for California Minors in the Digital World Act. In addition, any Minor who is a registered user of our Website may, at any time, remove or request and obtain removal of content or information about them that they themselves posted on our Website. This provision, however, does not apply to the following content or information: (i) content or information posted by a third party; (ii) anonymized or de-identified content or information; or (iii) content or information for which a Minor was compensated to post.

Our Website may contain links to other websites and may provide opportunities to publish certain information to third party websites or social media platforms. LiveSchool is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, platforms, or any other linked services. We encourage our users when they leave our Website to read the privacy policies of each and every website that collects or publishes personal information. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including those that may have a link on our Website, is subject to that website's own rules and policies.

International Users

Our Website and any information that you share with us are hosted in the United States.  For international users, please note that it may be necessary to transfer your information internationally and, in particular, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. For residents of the European Union, the data protection and other laws of countries outside of the European Union may not be as comprehensive as those of the European Union. Please keep in mind, however, that whenever you give out personal information online, such information is not always secure in transit. While we strive to protect your privacy and secure your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the Internet or through a mobile application, and you disclose such information at your own risk.

From time to time, we may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect industry initiatives, changes in the law, changes in our information collection and use practices, or changes in the features of the Website, and such modifications shall be effective upon posting by LiveSchool on this Website.

If we make a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by email (as listed in your account profile). If LiveSchool materially changes its practices regarding its collection or its use of Personal Information, our collection and use of your Personal Information will continue to be governed by the Privacy Policy under which it was collected, unless you have been provided notice of, and have not objected to, the change.
